Bonzo’s Bit

Hi everyone. This is my bit of the FUNBOX website, and in my opinion, its the coolest bit! Cos I am soooooo cooool!

You can find my favourite jokes and riddles, and I’ll keep you updated on what I’ve been up to and where I’ve been. As you probably know, I love my food – the weirder the better sometimes.  So I may post my favourite recipes. If you have any favourite recipes or things you like to eat, then share them with me too.

Bonzo’s Chocolate Truffles recipe

Hi everyone.

Hope you are all well and looking forward to a brilliant Christmas. I have been very busy buying presents, wrapping them up and putting them in safe places. The problem is I keep forgetting where I put them. Getting so forgetful! I even found some jelly sweeties I’d bought for Gary for last year’s Christmas! They were a bit green and furry, but still tasty. Oopsie.

I wrote my list for Santa too. I think I might have been a bit too greedy – as I wrote it on a loo roll and used the whole lot!!! So I changed my mind and asked for a surprise instead. (Though I hope its a new scooter; I broke my old one).

I thought I’d share my recipe for Chocolate Truffles that I have made as a prezzie for Anya for Christmas. It’s a surprise, so don’t tell her! I got help from Kevin and you will need help from a grown-up too. You will need to melt chocolate and stuff and should definitely get help from Mummy or Daddy or Granny or Granddad or Auntie or…you know what I mean. Anyway it’s a great present for people and the best thing is I’m not allowed to eat them; as chocolate is bad for dogs. Don’t give your dog chocolate.

(*Warning – this recipe may contain nuts)

What you need is;

200g of good quality dark (or plain) chocolate

200ml of double cream

About a combined total of 200g of desiccated coconut, chopped nuts, cocoa powder, chocolate sprinkles – whatever you fancy really. (Not rice though, that would be weird)

What you need to do:

1   Get a grown-up to pour the cream into a saucepan and bring just up to the boil.

2   You can smash up the chocolate into little bits, and put it in a bowl.

3   Get your grown-up to pour the hot cream over the chocolate and stir carefully till all the chocolate is melted. Its should be smooth and silky

4   Leave to cool then put it in the fridge for about 2 hours. It should go pretty solid.

5   Meanwhile pour your coconut, nuts, sprinkles or whatever on separate plates

6   When the choco/cream mixture is set, WASH YOUR HANDS, then use a spoon to scoop out wee blobs. Using your clean hands ( I had to wear gloves cos my paws are so furry) roll out small balls, about the size of a large grape.

7   Then roll the truffle in the coating of your choice and set aside.( I placed my Truffles in a decorative gift box with grease proof paper layers. Then I closed it and wrapped it in paper. Then I put a ribbon round it. And a large bow, and a tag, and sprinkled glitter on it. Hope Anya likes her present)

They will keep in a cool place for up to three days (no chance) or up to a month in the freezer in a suitable container.

Merry Christmas!!!!

Bonzo Goes Online

Welcome to my first Funbox blog. A dog blog! Ha ha, that sounds funny. Dog Blog!
I’ll try and bring you all my news as it happens, and stories of places I go and people I meet.

I’m really looking forward to new adventures with Kevin, Gary and my best friend Anya, in FUNBOX next year. I reckon there’ll be lots of dressing up (my favourite thing), fun (my favourite thing), singing (my favourite thing) and silliness (my favourite thing) as we search for our missing keys (my favourite thing)…I think I have too many favourite things.

Another of my favourite things are jokes. I love them! I thought you might like these Christmassy ones:

Why does Rudolph balance books on his top lip?
Cos his nose is well red

What happens if you eat too many Christmas decorations?
You get tinsilitus.

What do reindeer hang on their Christmas trees?
Horn-a-ments!

Why does Santa like gardening so much?
Cos he gets to Ho, Ho Ho!

If you have any good jokes why not send them in. Who know I might even use yours in the new show?

Right I’m off to work on my Christmas list. See you soon

Love

Bonzo xxx
